Prior to joining Easterly, Mr. Bassinger was a Managing Director at Leerink Partners to institutionalize and lead Leerink’s private placement advisory services. Prior to joining Leerink, in 2001 Mr. Bassinger co-founded and was Managing Director of Rockport Venture Partners, a highly successful and respected international life sciences investment banking firm that specialized in raising capital for medical and life science startup companies. At Rockport, Mr. Bassinger worked closely with entrepreneurs and venture capitalists to position and successfully execute financings for a variety of business plans.

Prior to Rockport, Mr. Bassinger co-founded and was a senior executive in the launch of two high-growth venture stage companies, and played a key role in raising over $60 million in capital for those organizations. Mr. Bassinger’s leadership and contributions to corporate strategy, strategic alliances and product development were central to the success of Sensitech transitioning from a hardware company into a highly profitable recurring revenue information solutions company that was an INC. 500 Fastest Growing Companies in the U.S. for two consecutive years, and was one of the Top 50 fastest growing companies in New England for three consecutive years.

Mr. Bassinger earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and a M.S. in Manufacturing & Technology from the University of Rhode Island.

Mr. Blaney is a Vice President at Easterly, responsible for originating, underwriting, and structuring investments. Since joining Easterly in 2015, Mr. Blaney’s primary responsibility has been sourcing merger candidates, performing due diligence, and providing deal execution for Easterly Acquisition Corp., a blank check company with $200 million of capital that has entered into an Investment Agreement for a business combination with JH Capital Group Holdings, LLC.

Prior to joining Easterly, Mr. Blaney served as an associate at Lineage Capital, a private equity firm specializing in buyouts of owner-managed and family-controlled businesses. Mr. Blaney has also worked at M.M. Dillon & Co., a boutique investment bank, and as a credit analyst at Bank of America.

Mr. Blaney received a B.S. in Business, magna cum laude, from Boston College and an M.B.A., with honors, from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Mr. Cody is a Managing Principal at Easterly, responsible for capital formation and business development. With more than two decades of experience, Mr. Cody has established a proven track record of identifying market and industry dislocations and building successful funds around these investment opportunities.

Previously, Mr. Cody served as the Chief Executive Officer of MatlinPatterson Asset Management L.P. (“MPAM”) which he co-founded in 2010. MPAM was formed with MatlinPatterson to expand beyond its distressed product offerings; driven largely through partnerships with fund managers that were previously associated with large financial institutions. They completed deals in long/short credit, mortgage credit and senior credit and sold the business to Allied World.

Prior to forming MPAM, Mr. Cody was the President of the Hybrid (credit) business of Fortress Investment Group and an early partner at Fortress. Under his tenure, Mr. Cody significantly expanded the scope and reach of Fortress, developing multiple new businesses and playing the primary role in growing assets under management to over $40 billion. Throughout his career, Mr. Cody has held numerous senior and principal positions at leading international funds and banks, including Bank of America Securities, Bankers Trust, Chemical Bank and Lydian Asset Management.

Mr. Cody received his B.A. from Colby College.

Mr. Colandrea is the General Counsel of Easterly, responsible for managing all legal and compliance related matters.

Prior to joining Easterly, Mr. Colandrea was the Deputy General Counsel at Prospect Administration LLC, responsible for investment adviser and corporate matters for Prospect Capital Management L.P. Prior to Prospect Administration, Mr. Colandrea was a Senior Vice President, and member of the Convertible Bond and Structured Investments groups at Highbridge Capital Management LLC.

Mr. Colandrea received a B.S. in Finance and Chemistry from Boston College and his J.D. from the New York University School of Law.

Mr. Crate is a Managing Principal at Easterly, which he founded in September 2009 to make private equity investments with a focus on the acquisition and development of cash-flow based investment products for institutional clientele. Mr. Crate serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Easterly Government Properties, Inc., a NYSE listed company that is the successor entity to Easterly Partners, LLC, a firm he co-founded as a private real estate portfolio company. Mr. Crate also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Easterly Acquisition Corp., a blank check company with $200 million of capital that has entered into an Investment Agreement for a business combination with JH Capital Group Holdings, LLC.

From 1998 to 2011, Mr. Crate served as the Chief Financial Officer of Affiliated Managers Group, Inc., a publicly traded asset management holding company. Mr. Crate was previously the Managing Director of the Financial Institutions Group of the Chase Manhattan Corporation based in London and New York, focusing exclusively on investment management firms. Mr. Crate’s board memberships presently include serving as a member of the executive committee of the Board of Trustees of Bates College, as the Vice Chairman of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, a global organization supporting general aviation, and the treasurer of the International Yacht Restoration School.

Mr. Crate is also on the Advisory Board of the Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps, an organization that advocates for children encumbered in the juvenile justice system.

Mr. Crate earned his B.A. from Bates College and his M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.

Mr. Dempsey is a Managing Director at Easterly, responsible for capital formation and business development.

Prior to joining Easterly in May 2014, Mr. Dempsey was a Managing Director at Fortress Investment Group in the Private Equity and Liquid Markets businesses and a member of the Management Committee. During his nine year tenure at Fortress, he served as Chief Operating Officer of the Permanent Capital Business Group and prior to that was the global head of capital formation for the Liquid Markets business. Prior to Fortress, Mr. Dempsey was a regional director for Allegiance Capital where he was responsible for the marketing and distribution of fixed income products for the southwest United States and Mexico. Prior to that, Mr. Dempsey was a fixed income specialist for the Enterprise Unit at SEI Investments where he developed asset liability studies and investment analysis for endowments, foundations and Fortune 100 defined benefit and defined contribution plans.

Mr. Dempsey received his B.B.A. in Finance and Economics with a second major in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame.

Ms. Haas is a Managing Director at Easterly, responsible for capital formation and business development. Prior to Easterly, Ms. Haas served as Partner and Deputy Head of the Asset Management business of Perella Weinberg Partners. A member of the Management Committee of the Firm, Ms. Haas worked closely with the group’s portfolio managers, marketing and business development functions.

Prior to joining Perella Weinberg Partners, Ms. Haas was a Managing Director and Head of the Pensions, Endowments and Foundations Coverage team at Morgan Stanley. A cross-divisional initiative, the team covered the largest asset owners in North America providing access to the products and services of the Institutional Securities Divisions. Previously, Ms. Haas was responsible for U.S. business development in Morgan Stanley’s Prime Brokerage Division, working with hedge funds on their financing and business needs. In 2006, she launched the Strategic Partner Initiative, an alternative capital sourcing function matching strategic investors with managers looking for capital. Ms. Haas joined Morgan Stanley in 1999 and served in various senior positions, including Coverage Officer and Head of Product Development for the Pension Strategies Group, which focused on pensions, endowments and foundations with assets greater than $1 billion.

Prior to Morgan Stanley, Ms. Haas covered financial institutions at Bankers Trust, where she structured and marketed fixed income, credit, currency and equity derivative products. She is a Certified Public Accountant and earlier in her career, she spent three years at Deloitte and Touche auditing financial institutions.

Ms. Haas received a B.A. in Government and Near East Studies from Cornell University and an M.B.A. from New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

Mr. Kalichstein is a Managing Principal at Easterly, responsible primarily for originating and underwriting potential candidates for acquisition or investment, with a particular focus on financial services and related credit investments. Mr. Kalichstein serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Easterly Acquisition Corp., a blank check company with $200 million of capital that has entered into an Investment Agreement for a business combination with JH Capital Group Holdings, LLC. Previously, in 2011, Mr. Kalichstein founded Solel Investment Group LLC, a privately-held company that has jointly led the acquisition of over $900 million in specialty finance assets.

Prior to forming Solel, Mr. Kalichstein was a Managing Director of J.C. Flowers from 2004 until 2011. While at J.C. Flowers, Mr. Kalichstein was responsible for originating, monitoring, and disposing of financial services investments globally, with a focus on consumer and commercial finance, banking, and property/casualty insurance. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Kalichstein led the corporate development group of Shinsei Bank in Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Kalichstein also led the capital structure team whose work culminated in Shinsei’s successful initial public offering on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Prior to his tenure at Shinsei Bank, Mr. Kalichstein previously worked as Vice President, Finance and Corporate Development for SoftNet Systems, Inc. and as an associate with Capital Z Partners, a financial services-oriented private equity firm based in New York. Mr. Kalichstein began his career in the Financial Institutions Group at Goldman Sachs.

Prior to joining Easterly in July 2013, Mr. Teixeira was an Assistant Vice President on the Private Markets team at Meketa Investment Group, where he led the firm’s secondary and fund of funds practice and performed all aspects of due diligence on various private equity funds including buyout, venture capital, and growth equity strategies. Mr. Teixeira is a CFA charterholder and a CAIA charterholder. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society Boston, Inc., and the CAIA Boston chapter.

Mr. Vetter is a Managing Director at Easterly, responsible for capital formation and business development. He focuses on the U.S. pension, endowment, and foundation investor base.

Prior to his role at Easterly, Mr. Vetter was an Executive Director on the Pension, Endowment and Foundation Coverage team at Morgan Stanley, responsible for content generation and marketing strategic, cross-asset solutions to Chief Investment Officers and risk managers. He played a key role in establishing a start-up operation to cover the largest asset owners in North America: the team provided access to the products and services of the Institutional Securities Division, including equity and fixed income derivatives and 3rd party capital raising. Previously, Mr. Vetter was a Vice President at AIG Financial Products, marketing and structuring cross-asset derivative products to asset owners and asset managers, with a specific focus on the Liability Driven Investing product suite. Prior to AIG, Mr. Vetter had similar roles at Goldman Sachs, an initial 5- year term at Morgan Stanley and began his career as Actuarial Analyst at MetLife.

Mr. Vetter received a B.S. in Accounting from Rutgers University and is a CFA charterholder.

Previously, in 2011, Mr. Kalichstein founded Solel Investment Group LLC, a privately-held company that has jointly led the acquisition of over $900 million in specialty finance assets.

Prior to forming Solel, Mr. Kalichstein was a Managing Director of J.C. Flowers from 2004 until 2011. While at J.C. Flowers, Mr. Kalichstein was responsible for originating, monitoring, and disposing of financial services investments globally, with a focus on consumer and commercial finance, banking, and property/casualty insurance. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Kalichstein led the corporate development group of Shinsei Bank in Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Kalichstein also led the capital structure team whose work culminated in Shinsei’s successful initial public offering on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. He played a key role in establishing a start-up operation to cover the largest asset owners in North America: the team provided access to the products and services of the Institutional Securities Division, including equity and fixed income derivatives and 3rd party capital raising. Previously, Mr. Vetter was a Vice President at AIG Financial Products, marketing and structuring cross-asset derivative products to asset owners and asset managers, with a specific focus on the Liability Driven Investing product suite. Prior to AIG, Mr. Vetter had similar roles at Goldman Sachs, an initial 5- year term at Morgan Stanley and began his career as Actuarial Analyst at MetLife.

    Previously, Mr. Cody served as the Chief Executive Officer of MatlinPatterson Asset Management L.P. (“MPAM”) which he co-founded in 2010. MPAM was formed with MatlinPatterson to expand beyond its distressed product offerings; driven largely through partnerships with fund managers that were previously associated with large financial institutions. They completed deals in long/short credit, mortgage credit and senior credit and sold the business to Allied World.

    From 1998 to 2011, Mr. Crate served as the Chief Financial Officer of Affiliated Managers Group, Inc., a publicly traded asset management holding company. Mr. Crate was previously the Managing Director of the Financial Institutions Group of the Chase Manhattan Corporation based in London and New York, focusing exclusively on investment management firms. Mr. Crate’s board memberships presently include serving as a member of the executive committee of the Board of Trustees of Bates College, as the Vice Chairman of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, a global organization supporting general aviation, and the treasurer of the International Yacht Restoration School.
